Platform overview
What is Wazapi?
Wazapi is a customer-service, automation and sales platform for the official WhatsApp Business API (Meta Cloud API), Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger, built for Brazilian companies. It combines a team inbox, a visual flow editor, a kanban CRM, a WhatsApp store, AI for support and a public REST API. Data is hosted in São Paulo with a DPA available, and weekly releases are listed in the public changelog.
Launched in 2024, it has three plans with public, monthly pricing: Starter (R$ 149), Pro (R$ 259) and Business (R$ 699). There is no lock-in, no cancellation fee and no setup fee, and the 14-day free trial does not ask for a card. It is a young company: its customer base and volume of public reviews are smaller than those of older competitors.
What is BotConversa?
BotConversa is a Brazilian WhatsApp automation platform, on the market since 2020, that presents itself as a no-code tool for business owners: a visual flow builder, broadcasts, campaigns, multi-agent chat and, on the Pro plan, a GPT assistant, a kanban CRM and the official Meta API.
The focus is WhatsApp: the official site, the platform overview and the help-centre index make no mention of Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, email or webchat. The product is strongest in the info-product and e-commerce ecosystem, with ready-made integrations for Hotmart, Kiwify, Eduzz, Asaas and Nuvemshop, plus an official Zapier app.

Chatbot and automation
Both products are mature here. BotConversa has a visual builder with unlimited flows on every plan, keywords, sequences with delays in minutes, hours or days, link and QR code campaigns and scheduled broadcasts. Its Integration Block runs GET, POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE and saves the response to custom fields; according to the help centre, it requires the Pro plan and times out after 10 seconds.
Wazapi covers the same ground (text, media, buttons, lists, data collection, conditions, HTTP request, templates, sequences, keywords) and adds three things that affect conversion. The first is an in-browser simulator. The second is unexpected-input handling: the bot accepts a number, approximate text or a tap, re-asks a limited number of times and recognises phrases such as “talk to a human” at any point. Customers do not get stuck in a menu, and a lead stuck in a menu is a lost lead.
The third is business hours. In BotConversa, hours are a condition (“Is open”) that you place at the start of each flow; the documentation warns that the bot only respects the schedule if the condition is there, a lunch break needs extra conditions, and holidays do not appear in the docs. In Wazapi it is a block with named schedules and company holidays, reused across flows and by the automatic inactivity close.
AI in support and sales
In BotConversa, AI lives inside the flow: the GPT Assistant block (Pro plan) takes a persona and a text “general context” that works as its knowledge base. Per the documentation, the assistant understands text, audio and images, saves customer data to fields, applies tags, groups bursts of messages and hands off to a human. The model runs on the customer's own OpenAI key, paid to OpenAI separately; one promotional plan ships with a key included. It comes with the R$ 199 plan.
In Wazapi, AI works in two places, and honesty matters here: both are on the Business plan (R$ 699). In the inbox, every inbound message gets a real-time sentiment, so the agent sees that a customer is upset before replying; the co-pilot suggests a reply in the context of the conversation; and when the chat is closed, quality analysis produces a score, dimensions and a coaching report per agent. Audio transcription is the exception: it works on any plan, with your OpenAI key. We found no public documentation of a co-pilot, sentiment or quality analysis in BotConversa.
The second place is the autonomous AI Agent, also exclusive to Business. In return, its knowledge base uses hybrid search (RAG) over text, FAQs, files, URLs and the store catalogue, which re-syncs on its own. The agent runs actions from an allowlist (tag, field, CRM stage), stops by itself when a human takes over and has a monthly spending cap. In practice, anyone who wants AI compares BotConversa Pro (R$ 199/mo on the annual plan, with the GPT Assistant) with Wazapi Business (R$ 699/mo, with 10+ seats): BotConversa is R$ 500 cheaper per month. Wazapi Pro (R$ 259) delivers the official API, three channels, the CRM, the store and MCP, without native AI. In both products the OpenAI key is yours (BYOK), with no mark-up on usage.
Sales, CRM and conversion
Both have a native kanban CRM, custom fields and tags. In BotConversa, the kanban is on the Pro plan and the sale usually happens outside the platform, at the Hotmart, Kiwify, Nuvemshop or Shopify checkout, with those tools' webhooks triggering the right WhatsApp flow. For info products, that design works well.
Wazapi brings the sale into the conversation. The WhatsApp store has its own public storefront, a catalogue with variants and stock, shipping options and a checkout that completes on WhatsApp. The order becomes a card inside the conversation, creates the CRM opportunity and triggers automation: a post-purchase flow, a payment reminder and status notices. A Shopify catalogue can be imported by CSV.
Two details close the loop. The closing policy can require a CRM stage when a conversation is closed, so no conversation ends without a recorded outcome. And marketing attribution stores UTM, gclid, fbclid and Click-to-WhatsApp ad data on the contact, the conversation and the order. You know which campaign produced the sale.
Team management
BotConversa has an objective advantage: unlimited agents on Pro and up to 5 on Starter, with no per-user charge. Its chat supports assignment, notes, mentions, closing reasons, quick replies and departments, and there is an app for iOS and Android. Round-robin routing exists, but the help centre delivers it as ready-made flows that you install (general or per department, with a clock-in variant), and it takes the agent's online status into account.
In Wazapi, seats are capped per plan (2, 5 and 10 or more) and there is no native app; the web interface is responsive. In return, routing is native and looks at real availability: status plus presence, so an agent who closed the tab gets no conversations. If an agent goes idle, the conversation is transferred automatically. Customers wait less.
The inbox has 8 views (mine, unassigned, unanswered, overdue, mentions and others), internal notes with @mentions and canned replies with media. Each agent has a performance page with first response (mean and median), resolution time, close rate and, on the Business plan, the AI quality score.
Costs, reports and channel health
On the official API, Meta charges per template sent. BotConversa passes that cost on as credits bought separately; its help centre lists R$ 0.05 per utility send and R$ 0.45 per marketing send (checked in Sep 2026). Wazapi passes Meta's price through with no mark-up and shows spend by category (marketing, utility, authentication and service) in the dashboard, before the invoice. If you broadcast a lot, compare the credit table with Meta's public rate card for Brazil.
Another cost that shows up later: in BotConversa, each “company” connects one WhatsApp number. For a second number, the help centre tells you to buy another licence and lists R$ 199 (Starter) and R$ 297 (Pro) per month. In Wazapi, multiple numbers and workspaces are part of the Business plan.
Finally, deliverability. Wazapi monitors the number's state at Meta (quality, tier and restrictions, with the cause and the fix Meta itself indicates) and protects sending with automatic opt-out on STOP-style keywords (PARAR and VOLTAR), a per-contact marketing frequency cap, deduplication and send pacing. A restricted number does not sell, and this layer exists to avoid that. Both products support coexistence.

| Example: the same team with AI, 12 months | Business: 12 × R$ 699 = R$ 8,388, paid month to month, 10+ seats | Pro: 12 × R$ 199 = R$ 2,388, on the annual plan. R$ 6,000 less per year |
Note: BotConversa prices checked in Sep 2026 on the official site (botconversa.com.br) and help centre (ajuda.botconversa.com.br). Affiliate pages show different figures. In Wazapi, sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and the AI Agent are on the Business plan; that is why the sum for anyone who wants AI uses Business, and there BotConversa is cheaper. The examples exclude Meta message fees and OpenAI usage, which apply to both products. Confirm on BotConversa's site before deciding.
Support and migration
BotConversa invests heavily in education: a help centre organised in learning tracks, live classes Monday to Friday at 10 am, recorded workshops and WhatsApp support Monday to Friday from 8 am to 10 pm, plus email replies within 24 business hours. The Pro plan advertises individual support and an onboarding call. Wazapi offers chat support on every plan, with priority on Business, and helps with number setup.
To move from BotConversa to Wazapi, contacts come in by CSV with their custom fields, and already-approved templates can be transferred. Flows have to be rebuilt in the editor, because there is no automatic importer. The 14-day trial is there to build and simulate your flows before you cut over.
Who is Wazapi for?
- Sales and support teams that receive customers on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger and want a single inbox
- Managers who track quality: per-message sentiment, co-pilot and a coaching report per agent, on the Business plan
- Businesses that sell on WhatsApp and want a store, the order inside the chat, payment reminders and a CRM wired together
- Teams that run ads and need to know which campaign produced the sale (UTM, gclid, fbclid, Click-to-WhatsApp)
- Technical and AI teams that want a REST API with OpenAPI, a Node SDK, webhooks and an MCP server with OAuth
Who is BotConversa for?
- Large teams on a tight budget: unlimited agents for R$ 199/mo on the annual plan
- Info-product sellers and launches that rely on broadcasts, link and QR campaigns and integrations with Hotmart, Kiwify and Eduzz
- Anyone who wants a GPT assistant in the flow without paying for a top-tier plan: it comes with the R$ 199 plan, and Wazapi AI requires Business, at R$ 699
- Teams that answer from their phones and need an iOS and Android app
- Newcomers to automation who value daily live classes and ready-made bots
Verdict
On price per agent, BotConversa wins, and not by a small margin: annual Pro costs R$ 720 less per year than Wazapi Pro and does not cap users. For anyone who wants AI, the gap grows: the GPT assistant already comes with that R$ 199 plan, and Wazapi AI only comes with Business, at R$ 699. That is 12 × R$ 699 = R$ 8,388 against R$ 2,388, or R$ 6,000 more per year. If your use case is a flow bot, broadcasts and a GPT assistant on a single WhatsApp number, and an annual commitment does not bother you, it does the job.
Wazapi makes more sense when WhatsApp is your sales operation and not just an automation channel. Already on Pro, at R$ 259, Instagram and Messenger land in the same inbox, the order and the CRM live inside the conversation, routing looks at who is actually present, an extra seat costs R$ 39 and Meta fees show up with no mark-up. On Business, AI starts working beside the agent. You pay month to month and can leave whenever you want.
Wazapi's limits are clear: no native app, seats capped per plan, AI (sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and the AI Agent) only on Business, and a younger company. If none of that is a blocker, use the 14 card-free days to build a real flow and check the plans.
Frequently asked questions
Is Wazapi better than BotConversa?
It depends on the use case. BotConversa is cheaper per agent (Pro at R$ 199/mo on the annual plan, unlimited users) and strong at flows and broadcasts on one WhatsApp number. Wazapi is more complete for selling and supporting: official WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger in one inbox, a CRM, a store and Meta fees with no mark-up, billed monthly with no lock-in, and inbox AI on the Business plan.
What is the best alternative to BotConversa?
For teams that need more channels and real support management, Wazapi is a direct alternative: plans at R$ 149, R$ 259 and R$ 699 per month, a 14-day free trial with no card, and the official API with Instagram and Messenger from the Pro plan.
How much does BotConversa cost compared with Wazapi?
As of Sep 2026, BotConversa's site lists Starter at R$ 189/mo and Pro + Official API at R$ 199/mo, both on the annual plan, with message credits sold separately (R$ 0.05 utility and R$ 0.45 marketing, per its help centre). Wazapi costs R$ 149 (Starter), R$ 259 (Pro) and R$ 699 (Business) per month with no lock-in, and Meta fees are passed through with no mark-up. For a team of 5 over 12 months: R$ 2,388 on BotConversa Pro versus R$ 3,108 on Wazapi Pro. Anyone who wants AI in Wazapi needs Business: 12 × R$ 699 = R$ 8,388, against the same R$ 2,388 on BotConversa, which already includes the GPT assistant.
Can I migrate from BotConversa to Wazapi?
Yes. Contacts are imported by CSV with custom fields, and approved templates can be transferred. Flows are rebuilt in Wazapi's visual editor, which has a simulator for testing before you publish. Support helps with number setup.
Does BotConversa use the official WhatsApp API?
It does, on the Pro + Official API plan, with coexistence (the same number on the app and the API). The Starter plan connects by QR code, like WhatsApp Web. Wazapi splits it in a similar way: QR code on Starter and the official Meta API from Pro.
Which one has better AI for customer service?
BotConversa includes a GPT Assistant inside the flow on its Pro plan, with a text context, running on the customer's OpenAI key. Wazapi also uses your key (BYOK, with a monthly budget cap), but keeps its AI on the R$ 699 Business plan: per-message sentiment, co-pilot and quality analysis in the agent's work, plus the autonomous AI Agent with a RAG knowledge base and CRM actions. Audio transcription works on any plan, with your OpenAI key. If the only criterion is the price of having AI, BotConversa is cheaper.
