Wazapi vs ManyChat: Instagram automation or WhatsApp support and sales?
If your acquisition starts in Instagram comments and DMs, ManyChat is the better choice: turning a comment into a DM is the strongest part of the product. If your operation lives on WhatsApp, with a team answering and closing orders, Wazapi gives you more for a flat price in Brazilian reais: official API, kanban CRM, storefront, MCP server and up to 5 operators for R$259/month; the native inbox AI sits on Business (R$699/month). Below are the facts on both sides, checked in September 2026.

Platform overview
What is Wazapi?
Wazapi is a support, automation and sales platform for Meta's official WhatsApp Business API, with Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger in the same inbox. It launched in 2024 for Brazilian companies: Portuguese and English interface, data hosted in São Paulo and public pricing in reais.
The product bundles what a sales team uses every day: team inbox, visual flow editor, kanban CRM, WhatsApp storefront, native AI and a public API. There are three flat-price plans (R$149, R$259 and R$699/month) with no lock-in, no setup fee and unlimited contacts. Weekly releases are listed in the public changelog.
What is ManyChat?
ManyChat is a global chat marketing platform that, according to its own site, is used by more than 1 million creators, marketers and brands. The core of the product is Instagram: replying to comments with an automated DM, reacting to story mentions and moving followers into a funnel. WhatsApp, human support (Inbox) and AI are layers around that core.
For a visitor in Brazil, the pricing page shows three plans in reais: Free, Pro (from R$149/month, scaling with the number of contacts) and Elite (custom quote), plus the Manychat AI add-on at R$299/month.

Chatbot and automation
ManyChat's Flow Builder is mature and easy to learn: unlimited flows even on Free, conditions, smart delays, A/B testing, sequences and keywords. On Instagram it goes further than any support platform: it answers post and Reel comments with a DM, reacts to story mentions and offers conversation starters. If your funnel starts with a Reel, Wazapi does not replace that.
Wazapi's editor was designed for the WhatsApp conversation that ends in a sale or with an agent. On top of message, data-collection and condition blocks, it has business hours with holidays, assignment to an agent or group, CRM stage, template and AI Agent, with a simulator in the browser. ManyChat's documentation does not describe a dedicated business-hours block. Both have HTTP integration; in ManyChat it is called External Request, on paid plans only, with a fixed 10-second timeout.
What weighs most on conversion is the unexpected reply. In Wazapi the customer can answer with the option number, an approximate text or a tap; the flow re-asks with a limit and recognizes phrases such as "talk to a human" at any point. The customer is never stuck in the bot, so the lead reaches a person instead of giving up.
AI in support and sales
In ManyChat, AI is a R$299/month add-on on top of Pro: AI Step (scripted questions and answers inside a flow), Intention Recognition, Text Improver and Flow Builder Assistant. The features that answer on their own from a knowledge base (AI Replies, AI Comments and AI Goals) are in beta and, per the help center, work on Instagram only. The knowledge base accepts text and public links; file upload is listed as "coming soon".
In Wazapi, AI works where the team sells. On the Business plan, every message gets real-time sentiment analysis (the agent sees an upset customer before replying), the co-pilot suggests the reply and the quality analysis produces a score and coaching per agent. Voice notes arrive transcribed on any plan, with your own OpenAI key. Also on Business, the AI Agent serves customers on WhatsApp with a knowledge base (RAG) fed by text, FAQs, files, URLs and the store catalog. It understands images, applies tags, fills fields, moves CRM stages, hands off to a human with context and stops on its own when someone takes over.
The cost model is different. In Wazapi the native AI comes only with Business (R$699/month, with 10+ operators), and usage runs on your company's own OpenAI key, with no mark-up and a monthly cap; that means creating the key. In ManyChat the fee is flat and there is no key to manage; the model provider is not disclosed. The math: ManyChat up to 2,500 contacts (R$249) plus the add-on (R$299) comes to R$548/month, below the R$699 of Business. For up to 3 agents and a small list, ManyChat with AI is cheaper. It flips from 5,000 contacts (R$449 + R$299 = R$748) or from the fourth agent (Inbox: US$99 + US$39 per extra seat). From the R$259 plan, Wazapi also exposes an MCP server with OAuth, so Claude, ChatGPT and other agents can operate conversations, CRM and the store with the user's permissions.
Sales, CRM and conversion
ManyChat organizes the audience with tags and custom fields, unlimited on Pro. We found no native kanban pipeline in the documentation; the suggested path is to connect an external CRM such as HubSpot or ActiveCampaign, directly or through Zapier and Make. To sell in chat there is a catalog that requires Stripe or PayPal: the agent picks the product and sends a payment link.
Wazapi ships the kanban CRM inside the product: pipelines per group, stages, opportunities and metrics. The closing policy can require a CRM stage when a conversation is closed, so no conversation ends without a recorded outcome.
The WhatsApp storefront covers the whole order: public storefront, catalog with variants and stock, shipping and a checkout that closes on WhatsApp. The order becomes a card inside the conversation, triggers the payment reminder and the status notice, and creates the CRM opportunity by itself. UTM, gclid, fbclid and Click-to-WhatsApp ad origin are stored on the contact, the conversation and the order: you know which campaign produced the sale, not just the click.
Team management
ManyChat's Inbox has real team features: basic auto-assignment (even split) or advanced (rules per agent or group), a per-agent conversation limit, groups, a mobile app and metrics for first response, closure and conversations per agent. The help center documents two limits: analytics data covers the last three months only and, when every agent reaches the limit, new conversations stay unassigned and are not redistributed, even after others are closed.
What weighs most for a Brazilian team is the seat count. Pro has 3 team members. To go beyond that, the documentation tells you to subscribe to Manychat Inbox, which starts at US$99/month with 3 seats and charges US$39 per extra seat; subscribing to both products does not add seats together.
In Wazapi, Pro already includes 5 operators and Business 10 or more. Round-robin distribution uses real availability (status plus presence: someone who closed the tab gets no conversations), and there is automatic transfer on agent inactivity. The per-agent performance page shows mean and median first response, resolution time, closing rate and, on Business, the AI quality score. The honest limit: included operators are counted per plan (2, 5 and 10+).
Costs, reporting and channel health
ManyChat Pro rises with your contact list. Per the table on its site, checked in September 2026: R$149/month up to 500 contacts, R$249 up to 2,500, R$449 up to 5,000, R$649 up to 10,000 and R$1,249 up to 20,000, with automatic tier switching. New accounts in other countries already see a different grid, in US dollars, with five plans. Public reviews on Capterra mention a cost that follows the number of contacts, including the ones you never message.
On WhatsApp, ManyChat requires the Pro plan and charges per delivered template, in US dollars, debited from a prepaid wallet (Manychat Wallet). In Wazapi, Meta's cost is passed through with no mark-up and shows up in the dashboard by category before the invoice. Because contacts are unlimited, the subscription does not change when your list grows. See the plans.
Wazapi also monitors the health of your number at Meta (quality, tier and restrictions, with the cause and the fix Meta itself indicates) and protects sending: automatic opt-out, a per-contact marketing frequency cap, deduplication and pacing. The inbox shows why and until when a template is blocked before you send it, which lowers the risk of a restriction in the middle of a campaign. We found no documented equivalent in ManyChat's help center.

Note: ManyChat prices checked in Sep/2026 on the official pricing page as seen from Brazil (values in reais) and in the help center (Inbox, in US dollars). The grid varies by region and by account creation date. Confirm at manychat.com/pricing before deciding. In Wazapi, sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and the AI Agent are Business only; the 14-day trial runs on the mid plan.
Support and migration
Wazapi offers chat support on every plan, with priority on Business. In ManyChat, per the help center, support is ticket-only: the request is opened through an AI bot and the answer arrives by email, with no phone and no live chat with the team. The Brazilian pricing page states email support on business days, and the official community announced in November 2024 that tickets can be submitted in Portuguese. Dedicated onboarding and a CSM come with Elite. On the other hand, ManyChat's help center and community are extensive.
To migrate, export your contacts from ManyChat and import them into Wazapi by CSV, custom fields included. Approved templates can be transferred, and the team helps with number setup. Flows have to be rebuilt in the editor. Instagram comment automations have no equivalent in Wazapi, which is why many operations keep ManyChat to capture leads on Instagram and use Wazapi to serve and sell on WhatsApp.
Who is Wazapi for?
- SMBs selling on WhatsApp with a team: 5 operators, official API, CRM, storefront and MCP server for R$259/month
- Operations with a large list: unlimited contacts, a subscription that does not rise with the list
- Managers who track results: per-agent performance, a mandatory CRM stage on close and, on Business, quality analysis with coaching
- Larger teams that want AI on WhatsApp: sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and a knowledge-base agent on Business (R$699/month, 10+ operators); audio transcription on any plan with your own OpenAI key
- Technical teams: REST API with OpenAPI, webhooks, Node SDK and an MCP server with OAuth
Who is ManyChat for?
- Creators, course sellers and brands whose acquisition starts on Instagram: comment-to-DM, story mentions and AI Comments
- Anyone starting with no budget: the Free plan covers up to 1,000 contacts on Instagram, Messenger and TikTok
- Teams that need Telegram, TikTok, SMS or email in the same flow builder
- Operations with up to 3 people answering that already run an external CRM through Zapier or Make
- Teams that need a native mobile app to reply from a phone
- Teams of up to 3 with a small list that want AI: up to 2,500 contacts with the add-on comes to R$548/month, less than the R$699 of Wazapi Business
Verdict
These products have different centers of gravity. ManyChat is the better choice when Instagram is your acquisition engine: no support platform, Wazapi included, delivers its comment and story automation, and the Free plan lets you validate the funnel without spending.
Wazapi is the better choice when the money comes in through WhatsApp and a team closes the deal. For R$259/month you get the official API, 5 operators, kanban CRM, storefront, MCP server and Meta cost with no mark-up, with unlimited contacts. Building the equivalent in ManyChat with 5 agents and 2,500 contacts adds up to R$249 plus US$177 per month. With AI the math changes: sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and the agent sit on Business, at R$699/month with 10+ operators. For up to 3 agents and 2,500 contacts, ManyChat with the add-on (R$249 + R$299 = R$548) is cheaper; with 5 agents (R$548 + US$177) or from 5,000 contacts (R$748), Business costs less. Wazapi's limits are clear: no mobile app, no Telegram, TikTok, SMS or email, and AI, restricted to Business, runs on your own OpenAI key.
If you use both channels, the combination is common and makes sense: ManyChat to capture on Instagram, Wazapi to serve, sell and measure on WhatsApp. Wazapi's 14-day trial needs no card and runs on the R$259 plan.
Frequently asked questions
Is Wazapi better than ManyChat?
It depends on the channel that produces your revenue. For team support and sales on WhatsApp, Wazapi gives you more at a flat price: the R$259/month plan brings the official API, 5 operators, kanban CRM, storefront and MCP server, and Business (R$699/month) adds the inbox AI and the AI Agent. For Instagram automation (a comment that becomes a DM, story mentions), ManyChat is the better choice.
What is the best ManyChat alternative for WhatsApp in Brazil?
For Brazilian companies that serve customers as a team, Wazapi is an alternative with public pricing in reais (R$149, R$259 and R$699/month), unlimited contacts, Meta's official API from the Pro plan and Meta cost with no mark-up visible in the dashboard. It does not cover Telegram, TikTok, SMS or email, and has no native mobile app.
How much does ManyChat cost compared with Wazapi?
In September 2026, ManyChat Pro in Brazil ran from R$149/month (500 contacts) to R$649/month (10,000 contacts) with 3 team members; AI is a R$299/month add-on and Manychat Inbox starts at US$99/month with 3 seats. Wazapi costs R$149, R$259 or R$699/month, with unlimited contacts and 2, 5 or 10+ operators included; Wazapi AI is Business only. For up to 3 agents and 2,500 contacts, ManyChat with AI (R$249 + R$299 = R$548) is cheaper than Business; with more agents or from 5,000 contacts (R$748), it flips. On both, WhatsApp templates are billed separately.
Can I migrate from ManyChat to Wazapi?
Yes. Export your contacts from ManyChat, import them into Wazapi by CSV with custom fields and rebuild the flows in the visual editor. Approved templates can be transferred and support helps with number setup. Instagram comment automations have no equivalent in Wazapi, so many companies keep ManyChat for that step only.
Does ManyChat use the official WhatsApp API?
Yes. The help center states that ManyChat connects through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, accepts an existing or a new number and supports coexistence with the WhatsApp Business app. The channel requires the Pro plan, and templates are charged per delivery, in US dollars, from a prepaid wallet. In Wazapi the official API starts on Pro; Starter connects by QR Code.
Does ManyChat have an AI agent for WhatsApp?
The Manychat AI add-on (R$299/month in Brazil) includes AI Step and Intention Recognition inside flows. The autonomous features with a knowledge base (AI Replies, AI Comments and AI Goals) are in beta and, per the help center, work on Instagram only. In Wazapi, the AI Agent with a knowledge base serves customers on WhatsApp on the Business plan, along with sentiment, co-pilot and quality analysis; the R$259 plan does not include them, and audio transcription works on any plan with your own OpenAI key.
