Wazapi vs Chatsac: what does it cost, and what comes with it, for a team selling on WhatsApp?
Short answer: if your team sells on WhatsApp and wants a fixed cost, Wazapi Pro gives you 5 agents, the official API, CRM, a storefront and MCP for R$259/month with no lock-in; the built-in AI sits on Business, at R$699. Chatsac charges per user (R$75 to R$199 list price), asks for a 6-month minimum cycle and fits best when you need Telegram, SLA-driven queues per department, or only have one or two users. Both run on the official Meta API and both ship an MCP server: the difference is what is bundled and how the bill grows.

Platform overview
What is Wazapi?
Wazapi is a customer-service, automation and sales platform for the official WhatsApp Business API (Meta Cloud API), Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger, built for Brazilian companies. It puts a team inbox, a visual flow editor, a kanban CRM, a storefront whose checkout closes on WhatsApp, native AI and an MCP server in one panel. Data is hosted in São Paulo, and weekly releases are listed in the public changelog.
Pricing is per plan, not per user: Starter at R$149/month (2 agents, QR Code), Pro at R$259/month (5 agents, official API, Instagram and Messenger, CRM, Store and MCP) and Business at R$699/month (10+ agents, native inbox AI, autonomous AI Agent, voice calls, multiple numbers, white-label). There is no lock-in, no penalty and no setup fee, and the 14-day trial, which runs on the Pro plan, needs no card. Launched in 2024, it is a young product with fewer public reviews than older platforms.
What is Chatsac?
Chatsac describes itself as "commercial WhatsApp with queue, SLA and chatbot": multi-agent service on the official Meta API where every conversation has an owner and a deadline. It covers WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Telegram, has a visual chatbot builder with technical blocks (HTTP request, script, decision point), a CRM with stage and deal value from the Growth plan, and an MCP server that connects Claude, Grok and ChatGPT to the service queue.
It is priced per user per month across three public plans (Starter, Growth, Scale) plus a quote-only Enterprise tier, with a 6-month minimum cycle and a 7-day trial without a card. The company states it has more than 1,000 customers on its case-studies page, in segments such as healthcare, retail and real estate.

Chatbot and automation
These two are closer here than most of the market. Chatsac documents a visual builder with real blocks: a decision point that combines conditions with AND/OR (last message, attribute, tag, entry channel, business-hours rule), an HTTP request with GET, POST, PUT and DELETE whose response lands in a variable, script execution, smart delay and transfer to a department or a user. A team with a technical person can build serious integrations there.
The gap is in the caps. On Chatsac the plan decides how many flows you may have: 3 on Starter, 7 on Growth, 15 on Scale, unlimited only on Enterprise, alongside 300, 1,500 or 8,000 active contacts a month. On Wazapi, flows, sequences and contacts are unlimited on every plan. For a sales team that is practical: every campaign, product or ad can have its own qualification flow without deleting one to make room for another.
Wazapi also handles the moment where bots usually lose the lead: the unexpected answer. A flow accepts a number, approximate text or a tap, re-asks with a limit, recognises taps on an old card, and hands over to a human when the customer types "talk to an agent" at any point. The business-hours block works with holidays and named schedules, and the simulator runs the flow in the browser before you publish. Chatsac documents an invalid-action rule and per-department hours with holidays; escape phrases do not appear in its public documentation. On Wazapi, the HTTP block starts at Pro.
AI in service and sales
Chatsac's AI is real and deserves credit. Its help center documents an AI agent inside the chatbot with instructions, training from your website pages, functions that return into the flow, memory of previous conversations and a token limit per conversation. Long-term memory uses a Pinecone token created by the customer, and audio transcription works with the company's own OpenAI key. From Growth up, the MCP server lets Claude, Grok or ChatGPT operate the queue with the operator's permissions.
On Wazapi, the native inbox AI comes with the Business plan (R$699/month), not with Pro, and works next to the human agent, which is where the sale happens. Per-message sentiment shows an irritated customer before the reply goes out. The co-pilot suggests an answer in the context of the conversation, which shortens first response. Quality analysis scores every closed conversation and produces a coaching report per agent. On Chatsac, the website shows a panel with "Sentiment" and "Intent", but we found no public documentation for reply suggestions or AI quality analysis; ask to see them in a demo.
The Wazapi AI Agent (Business plan) answers from a knowledge base with hybrid search, fed by text, FAQs, files, URLs and your store catalog, which re-syncs on its own when price or stock changes. It performs actions from an allowlist (apply a tag, fill a field, move a CRM stage), understands images sent by the customer, groups bursts of messages, hands over with context and stops by itself when a human takes over. Details at /en/ia.
On AI cost: on Wazapi, usage runs on your company's OpenAI key with no mark-up and a monthly budget cap that blocks or alerts, and audio transcription works on any plan with that same key. On Chatsac, the help center says the OpenAI token is mandatory, while the pricing page lists 2,000, 5,000 or 10,000 "AI credits" a month without defining a credit or what happens past the limit. Ask before signing a 6-month cycle.
Sales, CRM and conversion
Both have a pipeline. On Chatsac, the "CRM with stage and deal value" starts at Growth (R$110 per user); Starter does not include it. On Wazapi, the kanban CRM comes with Pro, with pipelines per group, opportunities and metrics, plus a closing policy that can require the CRM stage when a conversation is closed. No conversation ends without a recorded outcome, and the manager stops guessing why a lead did not buy.
The biggest difference for product sellers is the WhatsApp Store. Wazapi publishes your own storefront with variants, stock and shipping, and the checkout closes on WhatsApp. The order shows up as a card inside the conversation, triggers the post-purchase flow, the payment reminder and the status notice, and creates the opportunity in the CRM. It also receives orders from the native WhatsApp catalog and imports a Shopify catalog by CSV. We found no public Chatsac page about catalog, store or orders; if that is your case, plan for the store to live in another tool.
For advertisers, Wazapi stores UTM, gclid, fbclid and the Click-to-WhatsApp ad on the contact, the conversation and the order. You can answer which campaign produced a sale, not just which produced a chat. Chatsac lists support for ad-context messages on the Cloud API in its changelog and includes broadcasts from Growth.
Team management
Operations is Chatsac's home ground. The product revolves around department queues with an owner and a deadline, an SLA dashboard per queue (Growth), live monitoring, audit and conversation listening (Scale), permission groups, multi-factor authentication, internal messages and pinning a contact to a specific agent. For a service desk that measures SLA per queue, that is a solid set.
On distribution, Chatsac's public documentation describes a queue where the agent picks up the conversation, transfer to a department (any available agent receives it) and manual contact pinning. The blog mentions load-based distribution, but no help article explains the rule. Wazapi distributes round-robin based on real availability: status plus presence. Someone who closed the tab gets no conversations, and a conversation stuck with an inactive agent is transferred automatically. In sales, that is first-response time.
On metrics, Chatsac documents aggregate dashboards (average handling time, average wait time, bot retention, totals) filtered by company, channel, department and period, plus a first-response report. Individual per-agent metrics are not described in the help center. Wazapi has a page per agent with mean and median first response, resolution time, closing rate, volume and, on Business, the AI quality score.
Costs, reports and channel health
On Meta costs it is an honest tie: neither adds a mark-up. With Chatsac, Meta bills your Business Manager directly. With Wazapi, the cost is passed through with no mark-up and shown in the panel by category (marketing, utility, authentication, service) before the invoice, which helps you cut an expensive campaign mid-month.
The difference is the platform fee. Per-user pricing grows with the team: 5 people on Chatsac Growth is 5 × R$110 = R$550/month on the 6-month cycle, or 5 × R$88 = R$440/month on annual. Wazapi Pro is R$259/month for the same 5 agents, with the official API, CRM, Store and MCP, no term commitment and no AI. The math flips in two cases, and it is worth saying so: with 1 user Chatsac is cheaper, and a small team that wants AI also pays less there. On Wazapi, sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and the AI Agent sit on Business, at R$699/month with 10 agents included. For 5 people, Chatsac Growth with its AI agent costs R$550 (R$440 on annual), below R$699. Business only becomes the lower bill from 7 users on the 6-month cycle (7 × R$110 = R$770) or 8 on annual (8 × R$88 = R$704); with 10 users it is R$1,100 or R$880 against R$699.
Wazapi also looks after the number, which is the main asset of anyone selling on WhatsApp. The panel shows quality, tier and restrictions at Meta with the cause and the fix Meta recommends. Send protection applies automatic opt-out (STOP-style keywords), a per-contact marketing frequency cap, deduplication and send pacing. Coexistence lets you use the same number in the WhatsApp Business phone app and on the API. Chatsac documents per-channel logs and template sync; a number-health monitor and send protection do not appear in its public documentation.

Note: Chatsac prices checked in Sep 2026 at chatsac.com/precos. R$60/88/159 apply to the annual cycle (20% off); the FAQ on the same page uses R$110 per user on the 6-month cycle. Prices for an extra channel and for AI-credit overage are not published. On Wazapi, sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis, the AI Agent and voice calls belong to the Business plan; the 14-day trial runs on Pro. Confirm prices and terms on the Chatsac website before deciding.
Support and migration
Wazapi offers chat support on every plan, with priority on Business. Chatsac offers WhatsApp support from Starter and priority support on Scale, plus a help center with more than 100 articles; support hours are not published. Public review volume is small on both sides: Chatsac has 2 reviews on B2B Stack (2021 and 2022, both top score), and Wazapi, launched in 2024, also has little presence on review sites.
Moving from Chatsac to Wazapi is straightforward where it matters: on the official API, the number and the WhatsApp Business account live in your own Business Manager. Wazapi imports contacts by CSV with custom fields, transfers approved templates and helps configure the number. Flows have to be rebuilt, and decision and HTTP blocks have a direct equivalent. If you are in the middle of a 6-month cycle, check your contract terms and use the 14-day trial to set everything up in parallel.
Who is Wazapi for?
- Teams of 3 to 10 people selling on WhatsApp that want a fixed cost: R$259/month covers 5 agents with the official API, CRM, Store and MCP, against R$440 to R$550 on per-user pricing
- Product sellers who want a storefront, orders inside the conversation, payment reminders and the CRM in one place
- Teams of 8 to 10 people who want AI next to the agent: per-message sentiment, co-pilot and quality scoring with coaching on Business, R$699/month against R$704 to R$1,100 on Chatsac Growth
- Anyone who does not want a lock-in: monthly billing, no penalty, upgrade and downgrade from the panel
- Technical teams that want a REST API with OpenAPI, webhooks, a Node SDK and OAuth MCP covering flows, CRM and store
Who is Chatsac for?
- Operations with 1 or 2 users that want the official API on the cheapest tier: R$75 per user, while Wazapi's Starter connects by QR Code
- Anyone serving customers on Telegram, a channel Wazapi does not have
- Service desks that measure SLA per queue and need live monitoring, audit and conversation listening (Scale) or SSO (Enterprise)
- Teams with a developer who want a script block in the chatbot and agent memory in their own Pinecone
- Teams of up to 6 users that want AI (7 on annual) and accept the minimum cycle: Growth comes in below the R$699 of Wazapi Business, the only Wazapi plan with AI
Verdict
Chatsac is a serious competitor: official API, a chatbot with technical blocks, an AI agent and an MCP server that few Brazilian platforms have. If your problem is organising queues with SLAs, serving Telegram as well, or putting a single user on the official API for little money, it is the right choice.
Wazapi wins when WhatsApp is a sales channel and the team has three people or more. Pro costs R$259/month for 5 agents and already includes the official API, three channels, CRM, Store and MCP, with extra agents at R$39. There is no cap on flows or contacts and no 6-month contract. Distribution looks at who is actually present, and every order is born inside the conversation with its campaign source recorded.
Our limitations count: no Telegram, email, webchat or native app, the official API starts at Pro, and all of our AI (sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and the AI Agent) only exists on Business, at R$699/month. For a team of up to 6 people that wants AI, Chatsac is cheaper. If none of that blocks your operation, run the 14-day trial without a card, on the Pro plan, on your own number and compare the bill at the end of the month. Plans are at /en/precos.
Frequently asked questions
Is Wazapi better than Chatsac?
For teams of 3 or more selling on WhatsApp, yes: Wazapi Pro costs R$259/month with 5 agents, the official API, CRM, store and MCP, with no lock-in. Chatsac is better if you need Telegram, SLA queues per department, or have only 1 or 2 users, since it starts at R$75 per user, and if you want AI with up to 6 users, because the AI on Wazapi only comes with Business (R$699).
What is the best alternative to Chatsac?
If the reason to switch is per-user pricing, the 6-month minimum cycle or the flow cap (3, 7 or 15 per plan), Wazapi is the direct alternative: per-plan pricing, unlimited flows and contacts, monthly billing with no penalty. It also runs on the official Meta API and has an MCP server.
How much does Chatsac cost compared with Wazapi?
As of Sep 2026, Chatsac lists R$75, R$110 and R$199 per user per month (R$60, R$88 and R$159 on the annual cycle). A team of 5 on Growth pays R$440 to R$550/month. On Wazapi, Pro is R$259/month for 5 agents and Business is R$699/month for 10 or more. If you want AI, the comparison is with Business: with 5 people Chatsac is cheaper, and Business only becomes the lower bill from 7 users (8 on annual). Both pass Meta costs through with no mark-up.
Can I migrate from Chatsac to Wazapi?
Yes. On the official API the number belongs to your Meta account, so it goes with you. Wazapi imports contacts by CSV with custom fields, transfers approved templates and helps configure the number; flows are rebuilt in the visual editor. Check the terms of your 6-month Chatsac cycle first.
Does Chatsac use the official WhatsApp API?
Yes. Chatsac states it is a Meta Tech Provider and runs on the Cloud API, with Meta billing conversations directly in your Business Manager. Its help center also documents pairing by QR Code and by code, but the commercial site only offers the official API. On Wazapi, the official API starts on the Pro plan and Starter connects by QR Code.
Which one has better AI for service and sales?
Both have an AI agent and an MCP server. Chatsac trains the agent on your website pages and uses Pinecone for long-term memory. Wazapi concentrates its AI on the Business plan (R$699/month): per-message sentiment, a co-pilot, quality analysis with coaching and an agent that reads the store catalog, understands images and moves CRM stages. The R$259 plan does not include that layer.
