Comparison

Wazapi vs Blip: which one makes sense for an SMB selling on WhatsApp?

Short answer: if you run an SMB that sells and supports customers on WhatsApp, the real comparison is with Blip Go, Blip's self-serve product. Wazapi gives you a team inbox, flows, CRM and a storefront from R$259/mo with 5 agents and the official API, and keeps its native AI on Business (R$699); Blip Go costs R$389/mo, works on WhatsApp only and bets on a ready-made AI agent. If you are a large company that needs 12 channels, a contractual SLA and an implementation project, Blip's enterprise platform is the right pick.

Platform overview

What is Wazapi?

Wazapi is a customer-service, automation and sales platform for the official WhatsApp Business API (Meta Cloud API), Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger, built for Brazilian companies. One dashboard holds the team inbox, the visual flow editor, the kanban CRM, the WhatsApp storefront and the AI tools. Data is hosted in São Paulo and a DPA is available.

Launched in 2024, Wazapi has three publicly priced plans: Starter (R$149), Pro (R$259) and Business (R$699). Billing is monthly with no lock-in, no cancellation fee and no setup fee. The free trial lasts 14 days, needs no card and runs on the Pro plan. Weekly releases are listed in the public changelog.

What is Blip?

Blip (formerly Take Blip) is a Brazilian company with more than 25 years in the market and an official Meta partner. Its main platform targets large operations: 12 channels, the Builder bot designer, Blip Desk for human support and Blip Copilot. The Lite, Plus and Super plans show no monthly fee on the plans page, and Enterprise is priced on request.

For small and mid-size businesses Blip created Blip Go: a single self-serve plan (Blip Go Essencial), WhatsApp only, with an AI agent, a contact kanban, 100 campaign sends per month and an official connection through coexistence. The Portuguese page listed it at R$389/mo in Sep 2026.

Chatbot and automation

In Wazapi the chatbot is a drag-and-drop visual editor available on every plan, with unlimited flows. Blocks cover text, media, buttons, lists, data collection, conditions, HTTP request, business hours with holidays and named schedules, assignment to an agent or group, tags, fields, CRM stage, templates and the AI Agent. Variables use {{vars.field}}, and the simulator runs the flow in the browser before you publish.

The detail that moves conversion is how unexpected replies are handled. The customer can answer with the option number, with roughly matching text or with a tap; the flow re-asks up to a limit, handles taps on old cards and recognizes phrases such as "talk to a human" at any point. Nobody gets stuck in the bot.

At Blip, the visual designer is Builder, part of the enterprise platform, described by independent reviews as suited to mid-complexity flows and backed by an HTTP API and SDKs in C#, JavaScript and Python.

Blip Go takes a different route: instead of you drawing flows, an AI agent replies, qualifies and hands off to a human. The product page itself says it is not recommended for complex integrations with legacy systems, enterprise CRMs or ERPs. If your sales process depends on checking stock, calendars or billing over HTTP mid-conversation, confirm that with Blip before subscribing.

AI in support and sales

Wazapi puts AI at four points of the conversation. While chatting, per-message sentiment flags an upset customer before the agent replies, and the co-pilot suggests an answer in context. Incoming audio becomes text in the thread and in the webhook, on any plan, with your own OpenAI key. After closing, quality analysis produces a score, dimensions and a coaching report per agent. Sentiment, co-pilot and quality analysis are part of the Business plan; Pro does not include native AI.

Also on Business, the AI Agent talks on its own: configurable persona and model, and a knowledge base with hybrid search (RAG) built from text, FAQs, files, URLs and the storefront catalog, which re-syncs by itself. It understands images, applies tags, fills fields and moves CRM stages within an allowlist, batches bursts of messages, hands off to a human with context and stops by itself when a human takes over.

Model usage runs on your company's own OpenAI key (BYOK), with no mark-up and a monthly budget cap that blocks or alerts. The remote MCP server with OAuth lets Claude, ChatGPT and other agents operate conversations, contacts, flows, CRM and the store with the user's permissions.

This is where Blip has a real strength: Blip Go already includes a 24/7 AI agent in its R$389 monthly fee, with no key of your own, while all of Wazapi's native AI, from the co-pilot to the autonomous agent, only exists on Business (R$699) and runs on your OpenAI key. If all you want is AI answering on WhatsApp, Blip Go is the cheaper option: R$699 − R$389 = R$310 less per month, and its bill only reaches the Business fee at around 550 sends a month (R$389 + 449 × R$0.69 = R$698.81). On the enterprise platform, Blip Copilot offers smart summaries, reply suggestions and audio transcription, and Studio orchestrates agents. Blip does not disclose which model it uses or what these features cost; per-message sentiment and per-agent quality analysis do not appear in its public documentation.

Sales, CRM and conversion

Wazapi treats a conversation as a funnel stage. The native kanban CRM has pipelines per group, stages, opportunities and metrics. The closing policy can require a CRM stage when a conversation is resolved, so no chat ends without a recorded outcome and managers can see how many conversations became sales.

The WhatsApp storefront creates your own public shop with catalog, variants, stock and shipping. Checkout completes on WhatsApp, the order card shows up inside the conversation and automation handles post-purchase: order flow, payment reminder and status notices. Each order is born as a CRM opportunity. UTM, gclid, fbclid and Click-to-WhatsApp ads are stored on the contact, the conversation and the order, so you know which campaign produced the sale.

Blip Go includes a contact kanban with custom columns, campaigns with 100 sends per month and performance reports. A storefront, orders and campaign attribution do not appear on the product page.

Team management

In Wazapi, groups and departments (including private ones) receive conversations through round-robin that considers real availability: status plus presence. An agent who closed the tab gets nothing, and an inactive agent has the conversation transferred automatically. For the customer, that means a faster first reply outside peak hours.

Access profiles unlock modules per person, and the per-agent performance page shows mean and median first reply, resolution time, close rate, volume and the AI quality score.

At Blip, Blip Desk organizes teams and role-based access levels and has a native app on the App Store, rated 4.8 across 598 reviews in Sep 2026. This is a point Wazapi loses: it has no iOS or Android app, only a responsive web interface. Platform plans cap agents (up to 10 on Lite, 30 on Plus, 50 on Super), with extra agents at R$200, R$150 and R$100. The number of agents included in Blip Go is not stated on the product page.

Costs, reporting and channel health

In Wazapi the bill has three visible parts: the subscription, Meta's fee passed through with no mark-up and your own OpenAI key usage. The dashboard shows Meta cost per category (marketing, utility, authentication, service) before the invoice arrives.

Blip Go follows a bundle logic: 100 sends included and R$0.69 per additional send, and the page does not separate how much of that is Meta's fee. The math for a list receiving 1,000 sends a month: R$389 + 900 × R$0.69 = R$1,010. On Wazapi the same volume costs R$259 on Pro (no native AI) or R$699 on Business (native AI and 10+ agents), plus Meta's current fee for the template category. On the enterprise platform, Blip also charges per extra unique conversation (R$1.25 to R$1.70, depending on the plan).

Predictable cost also depends on the number staying healthy. Wazapi monitors the number's quality, tier and restrictions at Meta, with the cause and the fix indicated by Meta itself. Send protection applies automatic opt-out (PARAR/VOLTAR, the Portuguese STOP/START), a per-contact marketing frequency cap, deduplication and send pacing. Both products support coexistence: the same number on the WhatsApp Business phone app and on the official API.

The English version of the Blip Go page showed R$299/mo and R$0.60 per send on the same date; we used the Portuguese version. Confirm the figures on Blip's website before deciding. On Wazapi, native AI (sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and the AI Agent) sits on Business; Pro does not include it.

Support and migration

Wazapi offers chat support on every plan, with priority on Business. At Blip, support varies by plan: business hours on weekdays for Plus, and 24/7 with a 99.5% SLA on Super and Enterprise, something Wazapi does not offer by contract. Public reviews on Capterra and B2B Stack mention implementation that goes through partners and support gaps after go-live; on B2B Stack, Blip's overall score was 4.4 out of 5 across 18 reviews.

To migrate, Wazapi imports contacts from CSV with custom fields, transfers approved templates and helps with number setup. Flows need to be rebuilt in the visual editor; the simulator lets you validate every path before publishing.

Who is Wazapi for?

  • SMBs selling on WhatsApp that want CRM, storefront, orders and campaign attribution in the same dashboard as support
  • Teams of 2 to 10+ agents that need routing by real availability and per-person performance
  • Buyers who want auditable cost: public subscription, Meta's fee with no mark-up and AI (Business plan) on your own key with a monthly cap
  • Operations that also serve on Instagram and Messenger without buying an enterprise platform
  • Technical teams integrating through REST API, webhooks, HTTP request, the Node SDK and the MCP server

Who is Blip for?

  • Large companies that need 12 channels, including RCS, Apple Messages, Teams, SMS, email and webchat
  • Operations that require a 99.5% SLA and 24/7 support by contract, with a budget in the thousands of reais per month
  • Anyone who wants a ready-made AI agent on WhatsApp without configuring an OpenAI key: Blip Go includes it for R$389/mo, against R$699 for Wazapi Business
  • Teams that depend on a native mobile app to reply away from the desk
  • Development teams working in C# or Python that want official SDKs in those languages

Verdict

For a Brazilian SMB that supports and sells on WhatsApp, Wazapi Pro covers more of the sale for less: R$259/mo with 5 agents, the official API, Instagram and Messenger, visual flows, CRM, a storefront with the order inside the conversation, the MCP server and extra agents at R$39, with no native AI. Blip Go costs R$389, is limited to WhatsApp and does not publicly state how many agents it includes.

Blip Go wins in one specific scenario: you want an AI agent answering 24/7 inside the subscription, without handling an API key, and you do not need flows, a storefront or other channels. In that case it is also the cheaper one: on Wazapi, all native AI (sentiment, co-pilot, quality analysis and the autonomous agent) requires Business (R$699) and your own OpenAI key, R$310 more per month than Blip Go. In exchange, Business includes 10+ agents, Instagram and Messenger, CRM and the storefront, and the agent takes actions in the CRM, reads the store catalog and has a spending cap.

If your operation is enterprise grade, with many channels, a contractual SLA requirement and a team or partner to implement, Blip's full platform was built for that, and Wazapi does not try to compete there. When in doubt, try both: Wazapi gives you 14 days and Blip Go gives you 15, neither asking for a card. See the plans at /precos.

Frequently asked questions

For large companies that need 12 channels and a contractual 99.5% SLA, Blip's enterprise platform is the better fit.

What is the best Blip alternative for small and mid-size businesses?

Wazapi is an alternative with public pricing (R$149, R$259 and R$699/mo), no lock-in and no setup fee. It combines a team inbox, a visual flow editor, a kanban CRM and a WhatsApp storefront in one dashboard, with native AI on the Business plan and a 14-day free trial with no card required.
